Day 1

Kibale - Kibale National Park

Your tour begins today with a transfer from Kigali, Rwanda, to Kibale National Park in Uganda. You will be picked up from the airport, or from your hotel if you are already in Kigali. The journey through the hilly countryside of Rwanda and into Uganda is scenic, and you will soon arrive at the lodge. Once there, you may rest from the long journey or take a walk to stretch your legs. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 2

Today, you will have an early morning breakfast before driving to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a briefing about your chimpanzee adventure. Please carry enough drinking water and a packed lunch. After being divided into groups of eight, you will enter the forest with a ranger guide in search of these amazing primates. You will spend a magical hour observing and learning about them before returning to the starting point. You will then continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the ultimate gorilla experience. Lunch will be eaten along the way.

Day 3

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will head out to the pristine jungle of Bwindi for the ultimate gorilla adventure. You will receive a briefing and then be divided into groups of eight before entering the forest. Please carry enough drinking water and a packed lunch. Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them and may take as many pictures as you wish. Rain gear is important, as Bwindi is a tropical rainforest, and it can rain at any time of day. For a small fee of $20 USD, you can hire a porter to assist you in the more difficult sections of the hike. Afterward, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park, where you will have dinner and your overnight stay at the lodge.

Come with us to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking this morning. For many, this is considered the second-best experience after gorilla trekking, and you will be amused by these playful, bamboo-dwelling primates. After completing the golden monkey trek, you will visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural immersion experience. This will depend on the time available, after which you will be transferred to Kigali. We hope you have had a wonderful time on safari with us. You will be dropped off at the airport or at your lodge in Kigali.
