Day 1-2

Into the Wild - Journey to the Shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro and Amboseli

Into the Wild - Journey to the Shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro and Amboseli

Depart Nairobi and head south on a scenic 3-hour drive to Amboseli National Park, famous for its vast herds of elephants and dramatic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and a bit of relaxation before heading out on your first afternoon game drive. The open plains and seasonal marshes offer excellent chances to spot giraffes, buffalo, lions, and of course, elephants.

The following day begins with an early morning game drive, when the animals are most active and the views of Kilimanjaro are often clearest. Return to the lodge for breakfast and enjoy some leisure time. In the late afternoon, you may choose to visit a nearby Maasai village to experience traditional life and culture, before heading out for one more game drive as the sun begins to set.

Then visit the eerie, black expanse of the Shetani Lava Flow, a remnant of ancient volcanic activity. Enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge and arrive in time for a late lunch and a bit of rest.

Over the next day, explore Tsavo West’s rich and varied landscape with morning and afternoon game drives.
