Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire

Your Tanzanian safari adventure starts with a pickup from the airport or your hotel in Arusha. Settle into your comfortable safari vehicle for the scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its stunning landscapes and abundant wildlife. As we enter the park, you'll immediately see why it's famous - large herds of elephants roam freely, often seen near the Tarangire River. During our game drive, watch for lions resting in the shade, towering giraffes eating from acacia trees, groups of zebras and wildebeest, and massive buffalo herds. We'll stop for a delicious packed lunch at one of the park's beautiful picnic sites. After lunch, we'll continue exploring more of Tarangire's wildlife before beginning our journey to Karatu in the late afternoon. The drive takes us through picturesque highland scenery with coffee plantations and local villages. Upon arrival at your comfortable Karatu hotel, you'll check in and have time to relax before dinner.

After breakfast, check out from the lodge and collect your packed lunches. Depart for a full-day cultural adventure at Lake Eyasi. Upon arrival, meet the Hadzabe tribe, one of Africa's last hunter-gatherer communities, and learn about their traditional way of life. Visit the Datoga people, skilled blacksmiths who craft tools and jewelry. Enjoy your picnic lunch under the shade of acacia trees near the lake. Spend the afternoon exploring more of the area or observing local village activities. Later, begin the scenic drive back to Karatu. After breakfast, check out from the lodge with packed lunches and depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival at the park gate, complete entry formalities before beginning your descent into the spectacular crater. Spend the morning on an exciting game drive in this UNESCO World Heritage Site, searching for lions, elephants, rhinos, and other wildlife on the crater floor. Stop at a scenic picnic site to enjoy your lunch surrounded by breathtaking views of the crater landscape. After lunch, continue exploring before exiting the crater in the afternoon. In the afternoon, set out on a fascinating hike along the shores of the lake, observing the unique landscape and flocks of flamingos.
