Day 2

After breakfast, you will meet with our company representative and drive to Mabamba swamp for a birding experience. Meet your local guide for your canoe ride to Mabamba swamp, take a boat to the swamp and get chances of meeting a number of birds and most especially the most sought bird that is the Shoebill stock bird. This will take 1-2 hours depending on the availability of the birds. After watching the shoebill stick bird and other birds, meet your guide, have enroute lunch and connect to transfer to Jinja to Eastern Uganda. Its’ about 3 hours’ drive.
Upon arrival, connect to visit the source of the Nile and take sunset boat cruise on Lake Victoria. Check-in at booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Nile Front Cottages for budget/2 Friends Guesthouse for mid-range/WildWaters Lodge for luxury.

After breakfast, meet your driver and connect for water rafting experience on the Nile, it’s a full day activity. You will first report for briefing then be provided with rafting gears for the activity. After rafting, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at hotel as above.

Transfer to Murchison falls national park and Ziwa rhino Sanctuary

As early as 7 am, after breakfast, set off for Murchison falls national park, which is about 6-7 hours’ drive wiith en-route stop at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for the rhino tracking experience. This is the only place in Uganda where to you will see the rhinos. You will receive a briefing then start the walk to find the rhinos and on finding them, you will be allowed to watch and take pictures of them. After lunch, proceed to your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge for mid-range/Tilenga Safari Lodge for budget/Nile Safari Lodge for luxury.

Day 5

Early morning after breakfast at your lodge, embark on a morning game drive in the northern part of the park to the delta. This is where you may spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, hyenas, cape buffaloes, leopards (on a lucky day), and different species of antelopes including the Uganda Kobs, Jackson hartebeest, Oribi, waterbucks among others. After the game drive, return to your lodge to refresh and have lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise to see the magnificent falls along the River Nile. Cruising along the bottom of the falls will expose you to the park’s streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, different bird species and large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. After the boat cruise, connect to explore the top of the Murchison falls giving you the best sights of the falls, walking along Bakers trail. Thereafter, return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast at your lodge, on your journey to Kibale national park in the western part of Uganda through the rift valley region, with stopovers to stretch with en-route lunch. After breakfast, drive to Kibale park head offices for briefing about the chimpanzees. Enter the forest and start trek the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, its take 2-5 hours to find them and on finding them, you are allowed 1 hour to be in their process as they swing from the branches in the canopy high above the forest floor.
After trekking and lunch, connect to explore the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. The reserve is abundant with butterflies, plants, animals, in particular, birds and primates. Spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco and rare Papyrus Gonolek will be of great interest to birders. The swamp is also home to more elusive animals such as Red Colobus monkeys and Sitatunga antelope. You will also have the opportunity to visit local community projects that have been financed by tourism and interact with the community. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

Upon arrival, connect to your lodge for lunch, later afternoon, go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward, this cruise will let you pass through a place of the highest concentration of hippos and you may also see many animals drinking at the water's edge. The cruise also offers a good platform for photography, bird watching, and games. After breakfast, connect to Kasenyi area for a game drive for about 2 hours to catch up with the early risers. Explore the Kasenyi sector - a known mating ground for kobs and a hunting ground for lions. While on the game drive, expect to see some of the big four game including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, also different species of antelopes, warthogs and white Colobus monkeys just to mention a few. Thereafter, embark on your drive to Bwindi imepentrable national park via ishasha sector for chances of spotting the tree climbing lions and other missed animals, have en-route lunch and proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park – Buhoma sector. Upon arrival at your lodge, check-in as you prepare for your next day activity. Have breakfast and transfer you to park offices for briefing about Mountain Gorilla trekking by a local guide. The time taken is usually between 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Meeting the gorillas unexpectedly is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures at very close range. You will observe adults feeding and groaning among themselves. After an hour with the long-awaited gorillas, your guide and rangers will lead you back to the starting point where your driver will readily be waiting to transfer you back to the lodge. Depending on the time you return from the trekking activity, you may do an optional community tour. Have dinner and overnight stay as lodge above.

Volcano climbing or golden monkeys trek – Mgahinga national park

Wake up early and drive to Mgahinga national park for briefing from your ranger guides about the hike. The park is located on mount Gahinga one of the 8 Virunga mountains with the lowest height of about 3,474m. The hike is between 6-8 hours’ hike depending on your fitness. You will hike through the bamboo cover, if luck is on your side you may encounter the golden monkeys and the gorillas. Reaching the top is so fulfilling and interesting as you enjoy the cool air and the breeze from the giant lobelia in the carter swamp. You will then return at your starting point to meet your driver and go back to your lodge to rest.
Or, you can do the golden monkey trekking activity on the same mountain. The activity takes 2-6 hours depending on the location of the golden monkeys. On finding them, spend an hour the monkeys before you return to meet your driver. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

After breakfast, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, explore Lake Bunyonyi on a canoe ride. This is the place to relax after all the hiking experience. Lake Bunyonyi is the second deepest lake in Africa with about 29 islands such as the punishment island, Bushara, Bwama and Njuyeera islands to mention a few. The lake is surrounded by steep terraced hillsides and best of all, unlike other lakes, Lake Bunyonyi is Bilharzia, hippo and crocodile free with crystal clear waters good for swimming.
