Day 1

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport (KGL) in Rwanda, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your lodge near Volcanoes National Park. The drive is approximately 2-3 hours, offering scenic views of the Rwandan countryside. The afternoon is free for relaxation or optional activities, such as a visit to the Iby'iwacu Cultural Village to learn about Rwandan culture and traditions.

Day 2

Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi

Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi

This is the highlight of the Rwandan portion of the tour. After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing from the park rangers. You will be assigned a park ranger to escort you to the park to track, and then begin the trek into the forest. The trek can range from a few hours to 8 hours, depending on the location of the golden monkeys. Once you locate the golden monkeys, you will have one hour to observe and photograph them. The experience is truly remarkable, allowing you to witness these magnificent, photogenic, and playful creatures in their natural habitat.

After transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the Gorilla Trekking experience.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking and Optional Batwa Visit

Gorilla Trekking and Optional Batwa Visit

A day dedicated to gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast and briefing, you will trek into the dense rainforest of Bwindi. The terrain can be challenging, but the reward of encountering gorillas is well worth the effort. You will have one hour to observe and photograph the gorillas. The trek can take from 2 to 8hours.

After, return to the lodge for lunch and spend an evening with an optional batwa community visit to learn about their culture and heritage.

After breakfast, you will transfer from Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive is approximately 5-6 hours, offering opportunities to see the beautiful landscapes of Uganda. Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its diverse ecosystems, including savanna, wetlands, and forests, and is home to a wide variety of wildlife.

You will go through the Ishasha sector and have a chance to spot the tree-climbing lions. You will arrive at your lodge in the afternoon, with time for relaxation or an evening game drive.

This day is dedicated to exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park. An early morning game drive offers the chance to spot the wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and other wildlife, such as Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and various bird species. In the afternoon, a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel provides opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and a vast array of birdlife. The channel connects Lake George to Lake Edward, offering a unique perspective on the park's wildlife.

After breakfast, you will transfer to Kibale National Park, famous for its chimpanzees and other primates. The drive is approximately 4-5 hours. In the afternoon, you will embark on a chimpanzee trekking experience, where you will have the opportunity to observe these fascinating primates in their natural habitat and watch them feeding and playing in the forest.

After the tracking experience, return to the lodge for dinner.
