Begin your adventure with a morning departure from Arusha and a drive through scenic Maasai plains to Tarangire National Park. Known for its enormous elephant herds and iconic baobab trees, Tarangire is a photographer’s dream and a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. You'll enjoy a full-day game drive in search of lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, and a variety of antelopes and birds. During the dry season, animals congregate near the Tarangire River, offering spectacular sightings. After the safari, continue to Karatu for overnight at Marera Valley Lodge, set amidst beautiful rolling hills.

Explore the Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to over 25,000 animals, including black rhinos, lions, elephants, wildebeests, and flamingos. You’ll descend into the crater floor for a full-day safari, enjoying breathtaking scenery and remarkable biodiversity. A picnic lunch will be served at a scenic spot, followed by more wildlife viewing in the afternoon. Later, ascend from the crater and return to your lodge in Karatu for another restful evening.

Lake Manyara National Park and Return to Arusha

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, known for its lush forests, groundwater springs, and dramatic Rift Valley escarpment. The park is home to diverse wildlife including elephants, large troops of baboons, giraffes, hippos, and—famously—tree-climbing lions. You’ll enjoy a half-day game drive with opportunities for birdwatching and photography, especially near the soda lake, which attracts flamingos and other water birds. After your safari, drive back to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon with wonderful memories of your Tanzanian safari experience.
