Your adventure begins with a warm welcome from your professional safari driver/guide, who will accompany you on your thrilling 3-day Gorilla Safari to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey heads southwest through Uganda’s vibrant landscapes, featuring a memorable a relaxing lunch break in kabale

From there, the road winds through expansive terrace plains before climbing into the scenic Kigezi Highlands, often nicknamed “the Switzerland of Uganda” for its cool climate and stunning terrain. Along the way, you’ll pass lush banana plantations and terraced hillsides, with the scenery becoming ever more dense and vibrant as you approach the mystical rainforest of Bwindi.

On arrival, check in to your lodge and unwind amidst the serene sounds of the forest. A hearty dinner will be served as you settle in for the night, resting up for the life-changing gorilla trekking experience awaiting you the next day.

Tracking Gorillas & Exploring Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, you'll be briefed by a ranger before entering the forests of Bwindi gorilla sanctuary. The forest is stunning, with steep, dense terrain and winding animal trails. Tracking times vary based on the gorillas’ movements, but once found, you'll spend a memorable hour observing these gentle, endangered giants in their natural habitat a truly humbling experience.

Return to your lodge for lunch, then check out for your transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Surrounded by terraced hills rising up to 2,478 meters and dotted with 29 scenic islands, the lake offers breathtaking views and serene beauty.

Drive back to the capital, kigali

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and if you wish, take a refreshing swim in Lake Bunyonyi, which is free from bilharzia and hippos safe and perfect for a morning dip. Afterward, begin your journey back to kigali, either to the airport or your preferred accommodation.

Along the way, you’ll stop in kabale for lunch and at perhaps some last-minute souvenir shopping especially if you missed the stop on your first day. Continue the scenic drive, arriving in kigali by late afternoon or evening.
