Day 2

Your Utukufu Travels and Adventures guide will pick you up from your accommodation after breakfast. This morning, you’ll head to Tarangire National Park, a scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive along well-paved roads. Named after the life-giving Tarangire River, the park is a sanctuary during the dry season and renowned for its massive herds of elephants. Along the riverbanks, you may also spot giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, and—if lucky—predators like lions and leopards.

Tarangire also boasts one of the world’s highest concentrations of bird species, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. Scattered throughout the park are ancient baobab trees, many of which are estimated to be over a thousand years old. You’ll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at a designated site within the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

You'll proceed to your lodge in Mto wa Mbu, where you’ll relax in preparation for your journey to Lake Natron the following day.
