Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve), covering approximately 230 km and taking about 5–6 hours by road. Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation and take some time to relax, enjoy a delicious dinner at the amp before heading out for a sunset boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. This river is the lifeblood of the park and offers a spectacular chance to witness hippos, crocodiles, elephants coming to drink, and abundant birdlife including the majestic African Fish eagle in their natural setting all while enjoying the golden colors of the African sunset. The boat safari is both relaxing and thrilling, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.

After an early breakfast, head out for a full-day game drive inside Nyerere National Park, one of the largest and wildest protected areas in Africa. Covering over 30,000 square kilometers, the park is home to diverse habitats including open grasslands, woodlands, wetlands, and riverine forests. You’ll have the chance to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, wild dogs, kudu, and countless bird species, Your experienced guide will navigate through different ecological zones while sharing in-depth knowledge of the wildlife and natural history of the area. A bush lunch will be served at a scenic picnic spot, allowing you to stay immersed in nature throughout the day.

Day 3
Nyerere NP to Mikumi Town

Begin the day with an early morning guided walking safari led by an armed ranger a unique and intimate way to explore the African bush on foot. Learn about animal tracks, bird calls, and the medicinal uses of local plants. After breakfast, begin your road transfer from Nyerere to Mikumi Town, a journey of approximately 260 km that takes about 5–6 hours. Upon arrival, check in at the charming Camp Bastian, a beautifully designed eco-lodge nestled at the edge of Mikumi, Enjoy a delicious dinner at the camp. In the afternoon, visit a nearby Maasai Village where you will be welcomed with traditional dances and get a chance to learn about Maasai culture, lifestyle, and traditions. This cultural experience offers great insights into one of Tanzania’s most iconic community. Later in the evening return to the camp for the overnight stay while waiting for the next hiking adventure ahead.

Day 4

After breakfast, drive from Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park, which is just 65 km away (about 1.5-hour drive). Known as the “Galápagos of Africa, ” Udzungwa is a biodiversity hotspot famous for its tropical rainforest, endemic monkey species like the Iringa red colobus and Sanje crested mangabey, and its picturesque waterfalls. Enjoy a guided hike to Sanje Waterfalls, a 3–4hour trek through lush forest that rewards you with panoramic views and the chance to swim beneath the falls. After the hike, return to Mikumi town for a quick refresh before being transferred to Jakaya railway Station for your comfortable Tazara train ride back to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the evening. Upon arrive in Dar es salaam you will meet with the office representative that will drop you to your hotel or transferred to airport for your next journey back home
