You’ll be picked up early from your Nairobi accommodation around 8:00 AM, beginning your scenic drive north through Murang’a and Nyeri counties. The journey winds past rolling hills and verdant tea plantations perfect for a quick roadside stop to enjoy a warm cup of chai or freshly roasted maize.
By mid-afternoon, arrive at either Aberdare Country Club or the charming Sandai Farm, nestled at the foot of the Aberdare Range. After settling in, take part in a relaxed, community-led forest walk—an immersive introduction to the local flora, fauna, and traditions. As evening falls, gather around a crackling fire for storytelling under the stars and enjoy a traditional dinner prepared with local flavors.

This morning, journey into the cool highlands and enter Aberdare National Park through the historic Treetops Gate. Spend the day immersed in the park’s moody moorlands and misty bamboo forests, watching for elephants, bushbucks, giant forest hogs, and — if fortune allows — the elusive bongo antelope.
Later, return to the serene Aberdare Country Club. The rest of your afternoon is at leisure: perhaps join a local guide for a gentle nature walk through the surrounding forest, or opt for a peaceful horseback ride across the open hills, spotting zebra, giraffe, and other plains game. As evening falls, unwind with a drink on the terrace, watching the sun dip behind the Aberdare range.

Day 3

After breakfast, head north through the green highlands, with glimpses of Mount Kenya rising beyond the farms and homesteads. By midday, you’ll arrive at Ole Samara Guest Suites, a tranquil hideaway near Nanyuki, where you’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch surrounded by nature.
In the afternoon, visit the inspiring Nanyuki Spinners & Weavers, a women-run cooperative preserving traditional wool weaving. Meet the artisans, see the full process from raw fleece to finished textile, and try your hand at spinning or weaving. There's time to browse the shop for handmade rugs and scarves — each one a piece of Laikipia’s story.
Return to Ole Samara in time to unwind, with birdsong and mountain air easing you into the evening.

After breakfast at Ole Samara, take a short drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, where cutting-edge conservation meets unforgettable wildlife. Begin your morning with a game drive across the open plains, home to rhinos, elephants, Grévy’s zebras, lions, and more. Later, you may visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary—the only place in Kenya to see rescued chimpanzees in a safe, natural habitat.
In the afternoon, explore one of Ol Pejeta’s optional community initiatives: visit Ewaso Primary School to see how biogas is transforming energy access; tour a drip irrigation farm driving local climate-smart agriculture; or engage with a solar-powered homestead showcasing clean cooking and lighting. These visits offer a deeper look at the Conservancy’s impact beyond wildlife—small donations are appreciated.
Return to camp by evening. An optional night game drive is available. Overnight at Sweetwaters Serena Camp.

Depart mid-morning. Stop at the Equator marker near Nanyuki and enjoy optional curio shopping in Isiolo. Arrive late afternoon at Sabache Camp, Samburu Sopa Lodge, or the luxurious Sasaab Camp. Settle in with Samburu tea and traditional songs. Optional camel ride at sunset led by a local guide.

Begin the day with a sunrise game drive in Samburu National Reserve, home to the rare Samburu Special Five: reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. Enjoy a riverside bush breakfast, then later opt to visit the Umoja Women’s Village to support local beadwork and learn Samburu traditions. Return to the reserve for a final game drive followed by dinner.

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your hotel or residence within or around the Central Business District (CBD), marking the end of your journey.
