Day 2

Tarangire National Park

In the morning, your personal safari guide will pick you up from your Arusha accommodation as you begin your journey to Tarangire National Park. Traveling across the scenic Masai plains dotted with acacia trees, you'll pass vibrant scenes of Masai life, colorfully dressed locals walking, cycling, herding cattle, and guiding donkey carts.

Tarangire is renowned for its impressive elephant herds and diverse wildlife. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you’ll explore its savannas, seasonal swamps, and the Tarangire River spotting zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes, and possibly even lions or leopards.

Rise and shine! Today begins with an early departure to the scenic highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Our destination is the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Upon reaching the rim, we’ll descend 600 meters into the vast caldera, where grasslands, forests, a lake, and abundant wildlife await. Home to over 25,000 animals, including the Big Five, hyenas, and more than 500 bird species, the crater offers an unforgettable safari experience. After a picnic lunch and a rewarding game drive, we’ll head to your hotel in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you’ll head to the final stop on your epic safari Lake Manyara National Park, a small yet incredibly diverse gem located 120 km west of Arusha. The park’s shallow salt lake expands and contracts with the seasons and attracts thousands of flamingos, along with over 500 other bird species. As you explore, expect to encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and if luck is on your side tree-climbing lions. The landscape shifts dramatically from open plains to dense woodlands and dramatic baobab-dotted cliffs. After a scenic lunch in the park, you’ll drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon in time for your flight to Zanzibar.

Zanzibar, also known as the “Spice Island,” is famous for its white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and rich history. The culture is a unique blend of African, Arab, Indian, and European influences, reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and traditions. Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcases narrow winding streets, carved wooden doors, and lively markets. The island is predominantly Muslim, and respect for local customs is appreciated. Additional activities include yoga, cycling, and guided village tours for a well-rounded island experience. In the evening, return for dinner and overnight at Tembo Hotel.
