The afternoon starts with a game drive and the opportunity to get a glimpse of the 105 Black rhinos that live in Ol Pejeta, in its natural environment – the highlight of any visit! Africa’s most iconic species hunt, graze, breed and fight for survival on the plains of Ol Pejeta every day, in an ecosystem that has the highest densities of wildlife in Kenya outside of the Maasai Mara.
There are only two remaining northern white rhinos in the world - both female and living in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. During our game drive we will meet the northern whites and learn more about their history, what it takes to protect them, and what Ol Pejeta is doing to try and save this subspecies.

Due to the increase in the water levels of the lake in recent years, it led to decrease in alkalinity, thus affecting the flamingos (with only a small population of flamingo left at the lake). Lake Nakuru supports pelicans, black and white rhino, colobus monkeys, as well as, numerous antelopes, buffalo and giraffe. Enjoy an afternoon game drive.

We leave the lake area behind and drive through the Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve, followed by an afternoon game drive in the park in search of lions and leopards, herds of plains game and elephants, beautiful birds and elegant giraffes. The annual highlight is the Great Wildebeest Migration (between July and October), creating one of the world’s supreme natural spectacles.
We stay in the Mara Triangle area – one of our preferred areas in the Masai Mara for the following reasons:
The lodge overlooks the Mara River and is only a 15-minute drive from the Mara River.
The concentration of wildlife in the Mara Triangle is excellent – including the Big Five!
The Mara Triangle is where the wildebeest herds enter and exit the Masai Mara from the Serengeti, making it a prime location for witnessing this incredible wildlife spectacle unfold.
There are a total of 10 river crossing points in the Mara Triangle.
Off-road game drives are allowed in certain areas.

Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy 2 full days in the Masai Mara with game drives. With luck, you will see some of the "Big Five", and most certainly you will be impressed by the wide variety of species present in this area. The Masai Mara has the highest concentration of land mammals compared to all other parks in Kenya!
The prime location of the lodge makes it possible for you to explore the banks of the river at daybreak - this is something a lot of the other lodges cannot offer. Owing to the proximity of the river you are ideally positioned to photograph the massive herds of wildebeest as they gather and ultimately start crossing the Mara River.
