Arusha – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut

After breakfast, drive from Arusha to Arusha National Park. Complete registration at Momella Gate and begin your trek accompanied by an armed ranger. The trail winds through montane forest with opportunities to spot giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and monkeys. Enjoy scenic views of waterfalls and Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.

Overnight: Miriakamba Hut.

Acclimatization at Miriakamba Hut

Spend a relaxing day at Miriakamba Hut to adjust to the altitude. Take optional short hikes around the area, explore wildlife trails, or simply enjoy the peaceful forest atmosphere. This rest day helps your body adapt for a successful summit.
Activities: Light walks, birdwatching, photography.

Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut

Today’s trek takes you through a steep ascent, transitioning from forest to heathland and moorland. Along the way, enjoy views of the Meru Crater, the Ash Cone, and alpine vegetation. In the afternoon, you may opt to hike to Little Meru (3,820m) for acclimatization.
Trek Duration: 3–4 hours | Distance: ~8 km
Overnight: Saddle Hut.

Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak– Miriakamba Hut

An early start (midnight) for the final push to the summit. Hike via Rhino Point and Cobra Point to reach Socialist Peak at sunrise. The view of Mount Kilimanjaro and the crater below is breathtaking. After celebrating, descend to Saddle Hut for brunch, then continue to Miriakamba.
Trek Duration: 10–12 hours | Distance: ~18–20 km.

Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Arusha

Enjoy a final descent through beautiful forest trails with possible wildlife sightings. Return to Momella Gate where your driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Arusha.
