Arusha to Southern Serengeti National Park

Arusha to Southern Serengeti National Park

Morning: You'll be picked up from Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha City and driven to Ndutu, located in the southern part of the Serengeti ecosystem.

Ndutu offers some of the best wildlife viewing during the green season, from December to March. During this time, around 8,000 wildebeest calves are born daily, attracting predators and offering excellent chances to spot six species of wild cats: lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal, African wildcat, and serval, along with a variety of other wildlife.

Lunch: Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park.

Afternoon: You'll continue your game drive through the Ndutu area, taking in the rich wildlife activity of the season. Later, you’ll head to your tented accommodation in the heart of the wilderness.

Dinner: Served at your camp.

Evening: You'll relax and unwind at your own pace, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

Southern Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you'll spend a full day on a game drive in the Southern Serengeti, focusing on the Ndutu area. You'll visit Lake Ndutu, a seasonal alkaline lake that still supports a variety of wildlife, as many animals drink from its waters. From December to April, large herds of wildebeest gather here during the migration season. The area is also frequented by elephants, numerous bird species, and predators such as lions and cheetahs.

In the evening, you'll drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where your accommodation near the crater rim offers a peaceful setting for dinner and overnight rest. The location provides easy access for exploring the Ngorongoro Crater the following day.

After breakfast, you'll depart at 6:00 AM for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive to the gate takes about two hours. You'll then descend into the crater for a full-day game drive, with a picnic lunch enjoyed inside the park. In the late afternoon, the journey continues to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport, marking the end of your safari.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for both its natural and cultural significance. Inside the crater, you’ll have excellent chances to spot the Big Five—lion, buffalo, elephant, leopard, and black rhino—along with bird species such as flamingos and many others.
