Pick up and transfer to Akagera national park

Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali and brief you about your upcoming adventure. Begin the scenic journey to Akagera National Park, located in the eastern part of Rwanda, passing through beautiful countryside and rural villages along the way. Once inside the park, enjoy a leisurely game drive as you make your way to the lodge, keeping an eye out for zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and baboons. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and check-in. Spend your afternoon relaxing or take a sunset game drive to spot wildlife as they gather at water sources.

Morning game drive and an afternoon boat cruise

Rise early for a morning game drive through Akagera National Park’s vast savannah, woodlands, and wetlands. With your guide, search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, giraffes, and a variety of birds while enjoying the cool morning breeze. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relaxation before heading out again in the afternoon for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema. This peaceful cruise offers close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, and water birds along the shoreline. Optional night game drive is available at extra cost for guests who want to continue exploring after sunset.

Transfer back to kigali for a city tour and end your trip

After breakfast, depart Akagera and enjoy a scenic drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival, embark on a city tour that includes a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about Rwanda’s history, explore colourful stalls at Kimironko Market, and pass key landmarks such as Camp Kigali and Kandt House Museum. Depending on time, you may also stop at local craft shops for souvenirs. Your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel, bringing your unforgettable adventure to a close.
