Bete Gabriel-Raphael – once a royal palace, later converted into a church

Bete Mercurious – dedicated to a Roman martyr, adorned with ancient murals

Bete Emanuel – finely carved and considered the most sophisticated architecturally

Bete Aba Libanos – uniquely built with a combination of cave and free-standing design

Bete Ghiorgis – the iconic, cross-shaped church and a true masterpiece of Ethiopian rock-cut architecture
