Check out in the morning then drive to Antsirabe through the mountains, the hills and the rice fields. On the way you will see many burial tombs, some simple; others elaborate which play an important role in the local people and their fascination with the afterlife. Arrived in Antsirabe after 03 hours drive: the thermal station, the water city as it is called, it has become a very important economic city, famous for its fresh products and its mineral water, commonly called Visy Gasy. The town is well known as well on the numerous rickshaws and on precious and semi-precious stones.

Breakfast at the hotel. Short city tour of the town and its small manufacturer of corn horns of zebu, semi-precious stones. Drive to Ambositra the capital of the Malagasy handicrafts. Visit of the different shops, after visit continuation to Fianarantsoa. Upon arrival, city tour in this town which is the capital of the Betsileo tribe.

Day 4

Morning departure from Fianarantsoa for the short times drivsouthwards, going down to the southern part. In Ambalavao there is an interesting factory making hand-made paper which is well worth visiting. On Wednesday possibility to visit the zebu market, very interesting. In the afternoon, Visit of the Anja villager’s reserve where you can spot easily the ring tailed lemur. To see the various processes at work and there is a small gift shop at which you can buy some of the products.

Breakfast at the hotel. Leaving to Ihosy to the wide IHorombe grassland plains and on towards Ranohira. The scenery begins to change as you travel through the ‘Gateway to the South’ mountain and enter the attractive countryside of the Betsileo people where granite outcrops dominate the skyline. Here the village architecture also begins to change, from the single-storey ‘African-style’ house to the double-storey buildings of the central highlands where the people a more of kin to those from Southeast Asia than Africa.

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to the village of Ranohira to pick your local guide. Transfer to the parking area where you are starting to walk towards the natural swimming pool. In the afternoon, visit of Namaza canyon and visiting the Cascade des Nymphs. Spotting the ring tailed lemur, the verreaux'ssifaka lemur and the red fronted brown lemur during the pick nic lunch with those lemurs. You might spot some bird species as Madagascar Hoopoe, common Newtonia and with the chance the juvenile long eared owl. Possibility to enjoy the sunset at the natural rock window of Isalo if time allowed.

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Tulear through different villages of sapphire miners and the southern savannah. Stop on the way to visit the Zombitse National Park. Sightseeing of baobab trees, well painted tombs as well as typical villages of the southern tribes can be seen. Arrival in Toliara, then continue to Ifaty check-in at your hotel. Afternoon visit inside Renala reserve.

Ifaty brings together the small Malagasy seaside villages along Ranobe Bay in the Atsimo-Andrefana region. It is located about thirty kilometers north of Toliara, on national road 9. The village of Ifaty is also a fishing village made up mainly of Vezo and Masikoro tribes.
