After breakfast in Arusha, transfer to Marangu Gate (1,870m) for registration and meet your welcoming mountain crew.
Begin your trek through dense rainforest alive with birdsong, blue monkeys, and exotic flora. The path is well-trodden yet magical, with sunlight filtering through the canopy. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch en route before gradually ascending to Mandara Hut (2,700m).
In the afternoon, explore the nearby Maundi Crater for panoramic views of Kenya’s borderlands. Dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut.

Day 2

After breakfast, leave the rainforest and enter the lush moorland zone.
The trail opens up to sweeping views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The climb is moderate but steady, with heather and giant lobelias lining the path. Breaks along the way allow for rest and photography. After 6 hours, arrive at Horombo Hut for hot drinks and dinner.
At this altitude, you may feel cooler temperatures—perfect for stargazing under crisp, clear skies.

Day 3

This extra day helps your body adapt to the high altitude, greatly improving summit success.
Take a light hike toward Mawenzi Hut, with breathtaking views across the saddle toward Kibo Peak. Learn about alpine flora and fauna from your guide, enjoy lunch back at camp, and spend the afternoon resting.
Evening brings another hearty dinner and preparation for the days ahead.

Day 4

Today’s trek crosses the stark and beautiful alpine desert.
The trail leads you across the vast Saddle, a lunar-like expanse between Mawenzi and Kibo. The air is thinner and the sun stronger, so pace yourself. Arriving at Kibo Hut in the early afternoon, you’ll rest, hydrate, and have an early dinner before heading to bed for a few hours of sleep.
The midnight summit push and the BIG promise awaits.

Day 5

At midnight, begin the final ascent under a sky full of stars, the highest point in Africa.
The climb is steep and challenging, taking you past Hans Meyer Cave to Gillman’s Point (5,685m) on the crater rim. Push onward to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, arriving in time for a breathtaking sunrise.
Celebrate your highest achievement, then descend back to Kibo Hut for brunch before continuing to Horombo Hut for a well-earned rest.
