Day 1
Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early breakfast you leave Nairobi and cross the rift escarpment toward Lake Nakuru, a largely scenic drive of roughly 3–4 hours depending on traffic and stops, with great photo vantage points over the Rift Valley.
we begin a measured game drive across diverse habitat: acacia scrub, open plains, and near-shore lagoons where thousands of flamingos and waterfowl gather when water conditions are right. The Lake is famed for both birdlife and rich mammal sightings — look for buffalo, warthog, impala, and occasionally lion; the park also provides a comfortable introduction to Tanzanian/ Kenyan park logistics and short drives that set the rhythm for longer days ahead.
In the late afternoon you check into a mid-range lodge on the escarpment or just outside the park, freshen up and enjoy a relaxed dinner where your guide reviews the Maasai Mara plan and the next morning’s departure time.
Use the evening to rest early for a long but rewarding stretch toward the Mara tomorrow.

Day 2
Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
Today you leave the Rift Valley behind and head toward the Maasai Mara.
The road is long but scenically rewarding — plan for 5–6 hours with stops at viewpoints, markets or tea shacks en route. Arrival into the Mara conservancy or one of the reserve access points happens before midday: after lodge check-in and lunch you’ll head out for your first evening game drive when animals are active again, the Mara’s rolling plains, acacia islands and riverine corridors immediately offer a chance to observe big predators, herds of grazers, and the famed Mara scenery.
Your guide will orient you to the Mara’s seasonal patterns: where to search for lions, how to approach a sighting ethically, and what to expect if the migration is present. The evening drive is ideal for sunset photography and for testing vehicle positioning for early morning drives; return to camp for an under-the-stars dinner and a briefing about the next two full days of Mara exploration.

Day 3-4
Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara National Reserve
Rise well before dawn for the classic Mara sunrise game drive, animals are often most active at first light, and the low angle of sun makes for dramatic photos of predators and landscapes.
Spend the morning tracking prides and following signs, return to the lodge mid-day for lunch and a little rest. In the afternoon choose a targeted plan with your guide — follow cat activity near riverine thickets, stake out known cheetah hunting grounds, or visit quieter conservancy corridors to avoid the busiest tourist concentrations. The Mara’s variety ensures that even repeated drives reveal different behaviors, a territorial conflict, a lion kill, or a spectacle of grazing herbivores with a hunting cheetah on the edges.
Evening debrief and optional Maasai cultural visit or campfire chat deepen the experience and recharge for a new better day.

Day 5
Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park
Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park
Transition day, from Mara to Serengeti National Park, prepare for a lengthy but scenic border crossing and rougher roads that cut into viewing time, your guide will advise based on seasonal conditions.
On arrival in the Serengeti you’ll feel the terrain change — vast open plains and iconic kopjes that attract predators and offer sweeping migration vistas when present. After lunch in camp head out for an afternoon drive, central Serengeti provides excellent predator action, and kopje-studded terrain often concentrates lion and hyena activity.
Evening in a mid-range tented camp, where the night is filled with distant animal calls and stars, contrasts nicely with the Mara’s plains.
For addition cost, small flight transfer from Mara to Central Serengeti can be opted to cut the trip short and time efficiency.

Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park
Two full Serengeti days push into different habitat to keep viewing varied.
Try the open plains early, then the river corridors or denser woodlands if tracking cats, alternately, follow the grazing herds if migration is present and available. Your guide will read spoor, follow behavioral cues, and choose vantage points for predators or morning territorial displays.
Between drives take time to learn about the Serengeti ecosystem, how rainfall patterns drive grass, how predators zone their territories, and how local communities connect to conservation.
The long day ends with a classic East African sundowner and a hot dinner back at camp, your guide will confirm the Ngorongoro descent plans for tomorrow.
