You will begin with an early morning transfer to Aberdare National Park, enjoying a scenic drive through Kenya’s central highlands. Along the way, stop to admire sprawling tea and coffee plantations, and visit Karatina—the largest open-air market in East Africa—to experience its vibrant local culture. Aberdare National Park boasts diverse wildlife including elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black-and-white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs, and bushbucks. With some luck, you might spot rarer species such as the giant forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval, African wild cat, African civet, or the elusive blue duiker. Dinner and an overnight stay at the elegant Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club.

You will arrive in time for check-in and a delicious lunch at your camp. After some time to relax, head out on an afternoon game drive through the park, where you’ll have the chance to encounter a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, giraffes, buffalos, and both black and white rhinos. As the sun sets over the lake, return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

In the afternoon, soak in the atmosphere before heading out for your first official game drive in the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve: Home to the Big Five and countless other wildlife species.
