After being picked up from the airport and receiving a tour briefing, you'll head to Arusha with a packed lunch. The journey to Ndutu takes about 5.5 hours, covering 260 km. After driving for around 2 hours, you'll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the landscape transitions from hilly forests to expansive plains and lush grasslands, which eventually merge into the Serengeti. Ndutu is a key location along the path of the annual migration, with over 2 million wildebeest, along with thousands of zebras, antelopes, and gazelles passing through.
If you visit between December and April, you'll witness the plains transforming into calving grounds for the great migration, attracting numerous predators eager to prey on young wildebeests. Ndutu, with its lakes—Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek—provides essential water sources, ensuring abundant wildlife even in the dry season. The area is also home to six species of big cats, offering a rich and diverse wildlife experience.
