After being picked up from the airport and receiving a tour briefing, you'll head to Arusha with a packed lunch. The journey to Ndutu takes about 5.5 hours, covering 260 km. After driving for around 2 hours, you'll enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the landscape transitions from hilly forests to expansive plains and lush grasslands, which eventually merge into the Serengeti. Ndutu is a key location along the path of the annual migration, with over 2 million wildebeest, along with thousands of zebras, antelopes, and gazelles passing through.

If you visit between December and April, you'll witness the plains transforming into calving grounds for the great migration, attracting numerous predators eager to prey on young wildebeests. Ndutu, with its lakes—Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek—provides essential water sources, ensuring abundant wildlife even in the dry season. The area is also home to six species of big cats, offering a rich and diverse wildlife experience.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

On the final day of your safari, begin early with a quick breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater around 6:30 a.m. This natural wonder—the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera—spans 260 square kilometers and plunges over 2,000 feet deep. During your 5–6 hour game drive across its fertile floor, you may encounter elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions in their natural habitat, so keep your camera close.

After a picnic lunch beside the scenic hippo pool, you’ll make the steep ascent out of the crater and begin the final leg of your journey—a 4-hour drive back to Arusha. You’ll arrive in the evening, with drop-off at your preferred location or transfer to the airport, taking with you unforgettable memories of your safari adventure.
