After breakfast, drive three hours from your hotel to Londorossi Gate on Kilimanjaro’s western slopes for registration and park fees, then continue to Lemosho Glades trailhead. Begin a gentle ascent through lush, serene rainforest along the Chamber’s Route, rich with vibrant flora, birds, and possible colobus monkey sightings. After 3–4 hours of trekking, reach Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp, tucked in the heart of the forest, where you’ll enjoy dinner and your first night on the mountain under the canopy.

Today’s trek takes you from the forest into the moorland zone. You ascend along ridges before crossing the vast Shira Plateau, one of the most impressive geological features of Kilimanjaro. The terrain opens up to reveal sweeping views of the mountain. You will reach Shira Camp 2 in the afternoon, where you’ll enjoy a hot meal and settle in for the night.

Day 3

This is a key acclimatization day. You begin with a steady climb toward the Lava Tower, a volcanic formation at 4,640 m, where you’ll pause for lunch. The high-altitude exposure helps your body adjust. Afterward, you descend into the Barranco Valley, surrounded by towering cliffs and the dramatic Barranco Wall. The descent to Barranco Camp provides valuable acclimatization benefits.

The day begins with the thrilling ascent of the Barranco Wall, a non-technical but steep climb that rewards you with breathtaking views. The trail then continues through undulating ridges and valleys before reaching Karanga Camp. This shorter trekking day is designed to aid acclimatization and prepare you for the higher altitudes ahead.

Day 5

From Karanga, the trail steadily climbs across barren alpine desert landscapes to reach Barafu Camp. Here, you’ll rest, hydrate, and prepare for the summit push. Early dinner is served before you retire to your tent for a few hours of sleep. At midnight, you will wake for the final ascent to the summit.

Day 6

Summit day begins in the early hours of the morning. The climb from Barafu to Stella Point (5,739 m) is steep and challenging, but watching the sunrise over Mawenzi Peak is unforgettable. From Stella Point, a final push along the crater rim leads you to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, you descend back to Barafu for a short rest and then continue down to Mweka Camp for the night.

After celebrating your summit success, today marks the final day of your trek. You will descend from Mweka Camp (3,080 m) through lush montane forest, following well-marked trails that gradually lead down to Mweka Gate (1,640 m). Along the way, enjoy the rich biodiversity, including tall trees, ferns, and the occasional bird sighting, as your body readjusts to lower altitude. At the gate, complete the necessary formalities and receive your certificate of achievement. From here, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Arusha for a well-deserved rest and a hot shower.
