Day 1

You'll be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or airport in the morning and drive north through Kenya’s scenic highlands toward Nanyuki. En route, stop at the Equator for photos and a brief Coriolis demonstration. Arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy by midday and begin your first game drive, exploring this renowned wildlife sanctuary. Spot the Big Five, lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo, along with giraffes, zebras, and more. Later, visit the Sweetwater's Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya, home to rescued chimpanzees. After an exciting day of wildlife encounters, transfer to Warwick Hotel in Nanyuki for dinner and rest.

Day 2

After breakfast, take a short scenic drive to the charming town of Nyahururu to visit the iconic Thomson’s Falls, a 74-meter waterfall on the Ewaso Narok River. Enjoy the fresh air, take photos, and explore the lush surroundings. Return to Warwick Hotel in Nanyuki in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure, relax at the hotel, reflect on the incredible wildlife experience from Ol Pejeta, and prepare mentally and physically for your upcoming 3-day Mount Kenya hike. Early dinner will be served at the hotel as you rest and recharge for the trekking adventure ahead.

Day 3
Sirimon Gate to Old Moses Camp
Sirimon Gate to Old Moses Camp
After an early breakfast at Warwick Hotel, drive to Sirimon Gate (2,650m), the starting point of your Mount Kenya trek. Meet your mountain guide and porters, complete park registration, and begin your scenic ascent through montane forest and bamboo zone. As you hike, enjoy the changing landscape and spot wildlife such as colobus monkeys and bushbucks. The trek to Old Moses Camp (3,300m) takes about 3–4 hours, covering 9km. Arrive in the afternoon, settle into the mountain hut or tents, and rest as you begin acclimatizing to the altitude. Dinner is served at camp.

Day 4
Hike to Shipton's camp

After an early breakfast at Old Moses (Judmaier) Camp, begin your full-day trek to Shipton’s Camp, located at the base of Mount Kenya’s main peaks. The trail passes through the scenic Mackinder’s Valley, crossing moorlands and rocky terrain with spectacular views of the high peaks ahead. Along the way, you’ll see unique alpine vegetation like giant lobelias and groundsels. Keep an eye out for mountain wildlife such as rock hyraxes and sunbirds. The hike covers about 14km and takes 6–8 hours at a steady, acclimatization-friendly pace. Arrive at Shipton’s Camp in the afternoon, rest, and enjoy a hot dinner.

Day 5
Hike to point Lenana
Hike to point Lenana
Wake up early for a pre-dawn summit attempt of Point Lenana, the third-highest peak on Mount Kenya. Hike under the stars with headlamps, ascending steep scree and rocky paths. Reach the summit by sunrise and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views, on a clear day, you can even spot Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. After photos and a brief rest, descend back to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast. Continue your descent through the moorlands, retracing your route back to Old Moses Camp for your final night on the mountain. Rest and celebrate your successful summit.

Day 6
Drive back to Nairobi
Drive back to Nairobi
After breakfast at Old Moses Camp, begin your final descent through the forested trail back to Sirimon Gate (2,650m), marking the end of your Mount Kenya adventure. The 9km hike takes about 2–3 hours at a relaxed pace. Upon arrival at the gate, bid farewell to your mountain crew and board your vehicle for the drive back to Nairobi. Enjoy the scenic journey through Kenya’s highlands, arriving in the afternoon. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in time for your onward flight or evening rest, ending your unforgettable 6-day safari and hiking experience.
