Your journey begins in Nairobi hotel/residence or airport pick up as you set out in a comfortable 4x4 safari jeep, driving through open savannah and Maasai country toward the legendary Amboseli National Park. Famous for its sweeping plains and breathtaking Mount Kilimanjaro views, Amboseli is known as the “Land of Giants” for its free-roaming elephant herds.

Arrive at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, where lush gardens and a warm welcome await. After lunch, enjoy your first game drive in Amboseli — spotting elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, and giraffes moving gracefully against Africa’s highest peak.

Return to the lodge for dinner, then step into history at Hemingway’s Bar, once Ernest Hemingway’s private retreat, now a safari lounge where timeless stories still linger.

Exploring Amboseli - sunrise safaris, elephants and Mt Kili's timeless beauty

Wake up to the sunrise over Kilimanjaro and set off on a morning game drive. The park is alive with wildlife: wildebeest crossing the plains, buffalo grazing in the wetlands, and countless bird species painting the skies. Visit Observation Hill for panoramic views across Amboseli’s lakes and marshes, where hippos bask and flamingos gather.

Spend the afternoon at leisure — relax by the pool with Kilimanjaro in the distance or opt for a cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village. Later, head out for an evening sunset safari drive when Amboseli glows golden and the elephants return to the marshes.

Return to the lodge for dinner, then perhaps raise a glass at Hemingway’s Bar to toast a day well lived.
