Day 1

From Kigali to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali by your guide and start the scenic drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda, which takes approximately three hours. On the way, you will stop at Lake Mutanda Resort for lunch and have the option to enjoy a boat ride on the lake. In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa communities near Kisoro, experiencing traditional cultural performances and interacting with the local people. You can also explore local arts and craft shops for souvenirs. Alternatively, you may opt for a guided nature walk within Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, lasting 1½ to 2 hours, where you can observe forest birds such as the Bronze Sunbird, Regal Sunbird, Rwenzori Batis, and Olive Thrush, as well as the chance to spot golden monkeys. In the evening, you will check in at your lodge or hotel near the park, have dinner, and stay overnight.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking and Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters in Ntebeko, arriving by 7:00 AM for registration and a briefing by the head ranger. You will then embark on the gorilla trekking adventure, which can last between 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements. During the trek, you will spend time observing the Nyakagezi gorilla family in their natural habitat. After the trek, enjoy a packed lunch before starting the drive back to Kigali. You will arrive in Kigali in the evening, where you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport to conclude your safari.
