Day 1
Journey to the Maasai Mara
Journey to the Maasai Mara
Your safari begins with a departure from Nairobi City Market (We all gather here), heading southwest towards the legendary Maasai Mara. The drive itself is an introduction to Kenya's diverse scenery, culminating in a dramatic descent into the Great Rift Valley. A stop at a viewpoint offers a moment to take in the vastness of this geological wonder.
You will arrive at the Mara in time for a late lunch at your lodge, nestled within the reserve's ecosystem. After settling in, embark on your first game drive. This initial foray introduces you to the Mara's endless golden plains, dotted with acacia trees and teeming with life. Expect to see herds of zebra, topi, wildebeest, and giraffe, with the constant possibility of spotting predators like lions or cheetahs beginning their evening routines. Return to your lodge for dinner, with the sounds of the African night as your soundtrack.

Day 2
All Immersions at Maasai Mara
All Immersions at Maasai Mara
After an early breakfast, depart for a full day of exploration with a packed lunch. This is your day to delve deep into the reserve's remote riverine areas and vast grasslands. The Mara is renowned for its high concentration of predators, and your guide will work to track them. The highlight is often the Mara River, where, depending on the season (roughly July-October), you may witness the dramatic spectacle of the Great Migration crossing—thousands of wildebeest and zebra braving crocodile-infested waters.
Even outside migration season, the day is filled with potential sightings: a pride of lions lounging in the sun, a solitary leopard resting on a tree branch, or elephants moving majestically through the bush. The full-day drive allows for a relaxed pace, stopping for a picnic lunch at a scenic point before continuing your search for wildlife. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon, with time to relax and recount the day's adventures.

Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast at the lodge, bid farewell to the Mara and begin your journey east. The drive takes you back up the Rift Valley escarpment, offering different perspectives of the landscape.
You will arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park, a completely different ecosystem, in the afternoon. This compact, fenced park is a bird lover's paradise and a stronghold for both black and white rhinos. An afternoon game drive here focuses on the lake's edge, where you can expect to see vast flocks of flamingos (their numbers vary with water levels) and other waterbirds like pelicans and cormorants. The park is also home to rhinos, often seen grazing on the open plains, along with waterbuck, buffalo, and the elusive leopard. Check into your lodge located just outside the park gates.

You will arrive at your lodge in the Amboseli area in the late afternoon. If time allows, you may have a brief evening game drive as you enter the park, immediately greeted by the iconic image of elephants wandering past with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro providing a stunning backdrop.

Amboseli National Park
Rise early to clear skies for the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds, and the morning light provides perfect conditions for photography.
Venture out again in the afternoon for further exploration. Amboseli's open plains, swamps, and dry lake beds support a wide variety of wildlife beyond elephants, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and immense herds of wildebeest and zebra. The swamps are particularly rewarding, attracting elephants, hippos, and a profusion of birdlife. The day is defined by the constant, breathtaking presence of Africa's highest mountain.
