Kigali to Mount Bisoke Hike

On your arrival in Kigali, you will be met and warmly welcomed by a professional safari driver guide from Wagatil Safaris at Kigali International Airport. After a short briefing, you will drive to Volcanoes National Park and begin your adventurous hike on Mount Bisoke. The hike rewards you with spectacular views of the Virunga ranges and the stunning crater lake at the summit, surrounded by misty highlands and lush vegetation. This experience introduces you to the beauty of Rwanda’s landscapes and gives you an active start to the safari. After the hike, you will transfer to Tiloreza Volcanoes Eco Lodge, where you will relax and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Golden Monkeys and Transfer to Bwindi

After an early breakfast, you will head to Volcanoes National Park for an unforgettable morning trek with the Golden Monkeys. These playful and lively primates, endemic to the Virunga mountains, are a joy to watch as they leap through the bamboo forests. The trek gives you great opportunities for photography and a unique encounter with one of Africa’s rare primates. Following the trek, your driver guide from Wagatil Safaris will take you towards Cyanika border and help with the smooth transfer into Uganda. You will then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Arrive at Bweza Gorilla Lodge in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

This is the highlight of your safari. After an early breakfast, you will be transferred by your Wagatil Safaris driver guide to the park headquarters in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing before heading into the forest for the gorilla trek. Trekking through the dense jungle is a thrilling adventure, and once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend a magical hour in their company. Watching the gorillas interact, feed, and care for one another is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of the most powerful wildlife encounters in Africa. Later, you will return to your lodge to relax and reflect on the day’s adventure. In the afternoon, you may choose an optional visit to the Batwa community, where you will learn about the traditional life of the indigenous forest people.

Transfer to Kibale Forest and Chimpanzee Trek

After breakfast, you will depart Bwindi and enjoy a scenic drive through Uganda’s beautiful countryside towards Kibale Forest National Park with your Wagatil Safaris driver guide. Known as the primate capital of the world, Kibale is home to over 13 primate species, with chimpanzees being the most popular. On arrival, you will check in at your lodge before setting out in the afternoon for an exciting chimpanzee trek. The trek takes you deep into the tropical forest where you will encounter man’s closest relatives. Watching the chimps as they swing from tree to tree, feed, and interact socially is both thrilling and enlightening. Later in the evening, return to Bweza Kibale Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Kibale to Kampala via the Equator

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before setting off on the journey to Kampala with your Wagatil Safaris driver guide. Along the way, you will stop at the Uganda Equator, where you will take photographs and shop for souvenirs to remember your safari experience. The drive continues through Uganda’s rolling hills and green landscapes until you arrive at Entebbe/Kampala, where you will be dropped off for Departure. This marks the end of your unforgettable gorillas, chimps, and golden monkey's safari.
