Arusha to South Serengeti (Ndutu), following the great migration
After breakfast, journey to the far south of Serengeti National Park, known as Ndutu. Located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Ndutu is part of the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Its alkaline lake, though like most Rift Valley lakes, remains drinkable and attracts diverse wildlife.
From December to April, the short-grass plains host the heart of the wildebeest migration, along with elephants, birds, and abundant resident game. This region connects the northern Ngorongoro area with the unfenced southern Serengeti, creating a prime wildlife haven.
After lunch and an exciting game drive, proceed to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay. Enjoy two nights in the remarkable Ndutu region.

After an early breakfast, enjoy an en-route game drive through the southern Serengeti before departing for the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. From the rim, the crater appears like a hidden world, encircled by steep volcanic walls. Inside lies a breathtaking wilderness of open savannah, acacia woodlands, shimmering lakes, and lush swamps.
Formed two to three million years ago by a massive volcanic eruption, the crater is renowned for its rich wildlife, hosting one of Africa’s densest populations of large mammals. It also offers one of the best opportunities to spot the endangered black rhino grazing on the open plains.
After lunch and an extensive game drive in the crater, continue to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay at our comfortable partner lodge.

This “river of warthogs” serves as the only reliable water source during the dry season, attracting a vast array of wildlife. The park’s diverse landscapes range from dense elephant grass and acacia woodlands to lush groundwater forests.
Tarangire is renowned for its large elephant herds, often seen gathered by the river, along with giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests, closely trailed by predators like lions and leopards. Bird enthusiasts will be amazed, as Tarangire hosts more breeding bird species than anywhere else in the world.
