Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, you will drive to the lush foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro to visit the traditional village of Materuni. Here you will enjoy the breathtaking Materuni Waterfalls, one of the tallest and most spectacular waterfalls in the region. You will also take part in a hands-on coffee experience with the local Chagga community, where you will learn how coffee is grown, roasted, and brewed in the traditional way, and of course, taste a fresh cup. Later in the afternoon, transfer back to Arusha for dinner and overnight at a comfortable budget lodge, preparing for the adventure ahead.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, depart Arusha and drive through the Great Rift Valley towards Lake Manyara National Park, a small but incredibly diverse park. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, vast flocks of flamingos, hippos, and its rich variety of birdlife with over 400 species recorded. The park’s scenery is equally breathtaking, with dense groundwater forests, open savannah, and the stunning soda lake. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the park while watching wildlife, then continue with an afternoon game drive until evening. Dinner and overnight will be in Karatu at a budget lodge or camp near the park.

Today you begin your journey to the legendary Serengeti, Tanzania’s most celebrated safari destination. After breakfast, drive through the beautiful Ngorongoro Highlands, stopping at scenic viewpoints for photographs. You will then descend onto the endless plains of Serengeti, where wildlife is abundant year-round. Along the way, you may spot giraffes, elephants, and antelopes. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive inside Serengeti, searching for predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as large herds of wildebeest and zebras. This day is dedicated entirely to exploring the vast Serengeti ecosystem. You will start with an early morning game drive to witness the magical African sunrise and catch predators in action before they retreat from the heat of the day. After breakfast, continue exploring different areas of the park, depending on the season and wildlife movement. Serengeti is home to the world-famous Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeests and zebras move in search of fresh grazing. In addition, the park has thriving populations of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and an incredible variety of birdlife. After a picnic lunch, you will go on an afternoon game drive until evening. Return to your budget tented camp for dinner and overnight under the star-filled African sky.

After an early breakfast, enjoy one last short game drive in Serengeti as you make your way towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will then descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most remarkable natural wonders in Africa. The crater floor is often described as a “Garden of Eden” because of its incredible concentration of wildlife in a relatively small area. Here you have the best chance to see all of the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) in a single day. You will have a picnic lunch by the hippo pool and continue with a full afternoon of game viewing. In the late afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at a budget lodge or camp.

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem of Tanzania’s northern circuit. The park is known for its ancient baobab trees and massive herds of elephants, sometimes numbering up to several hundred. It also offers excellent chances to see lions, leopards, giraffes, and migratory birds. Tarangire has a unique landscape with rolling savannah and the Tarangire River, which attracts animals throughout the dry season.
