Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Today, you set off on an exciting journey into Tanzania’s iconic wilderness! After breakfast, your Maasailand Adventure guide will pick you up from your hotel. You will begin a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, which will take approximately 2 hours.

You will explore the park in a pop-up roof vehicle, taking in the seasonal swamps, expansive savannah and the wildlife-rich Tarangire River. Known for its large elephant herds, the park offers great opportunities to observe these magnificent animals congregating by the river. Keep an eye out for giraffes, bushbuck and elands, with various predators such as lions and leopards often in the vicinity. You will find ancient baobab trees throughout the park, as well as a high diversity of bird species.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a picturesque spot with breathtaking views inside the park, followed by more wildlife viewing in the afternoon. In the evening, you will be transferred to Tortillis Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, your journey to the Serengeti begins as you drive through the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending the crater highlands towards the vast plains of Serengeti National Park. The drive may be long but offers scenic landscapes and wildlife sightings along the way. You will stop briefly at Ngorongoro Viewpoint before continuing.

Enjoy a picnic lunch en route, surrounded by the beautiful wilderness scenery. Upon entering the Serengeti, you will begin an afternoon game drive across endless grasslands, home to lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, and many other species.

The Serengeti is world-famous for the Great Migration, and depending on the season, you may witness vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope moving across the plains in search of fresh grazing, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

As the sun sets over the savannah, you will head to Serenity Camp for dinner and overnight in the heart of the Serengeti wilderness.

Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Prepare for a full day adventure in the breathtaking Serengeti National Pak, the home of big cats and diverse wildlife. Experience game drives across its vast golden plains in search of the magnificent Big Five and marvel at over 500 bird species. As the day winds down, you will return to your accommodation at sunset for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.

*For an additional fee, you can enhance your experience with the option of a hot air balloon safari, giving you a birds-eye view of the breathtaking scenery and herds of wildlife moving across the savannah*

On your final day, you will enjoy breakfast before departing Serengeti National Park and start heading toward the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most iconic natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will descend into the crater for a half-day game drive, exploring its rich wildlife floor, home to an incredible concentration of animals within a unique enclosed ecosystem.

The crater floor is home to elephants, zebras, buffalo, hippos and an impressive concentration of predators, as well as the endangered and protected black rhino.

Around midday, you will enjoy a picnic lunch beside the scenic hippo pool, surrounded by incredible views before ascending the crater and beginning your journey back to Arusha. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your safari with Maasailand Adventure.
