First Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for the mandatory 7:30 AM briefing before your gorilla trek. Accompanied by experienced park rangers, you’ll hike through the lush rainforest in search of your assigned gorilla family. The trek may last between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, you’ll spend a memorable hour observing these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch before visiting the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you’ll discover Rwanda’s rich cultural heritage through traditional dance, music, storytelling, and local crafts. Return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Second Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Transfer to Kigali

After breakfast, return to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for your second gorilla trekking experience. Following the mandatory briefing, you’ll be guided through the lush rainforest in search of a different gorilla family, offering a unique opportunity to observe these remarkable primates in their natural habitat. After spending one unforgettable hour with the gorillas, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, where you’ll learn about mountain gorilla conservation, scientific research, and the inspiring legacy of Dian Fossey. Later, depart for Kigali, enjoying the scenic countryside along the way. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable double gorilla trekking adventure.
