4-Day Mikumi & Udzungwa Mountains (with Train & Maasai)

Catch SGR Train, Depart to Mikumi for A Game Drive

Transfer to a Tarin Station, and catch the train at 9:30 am and depart to Morogoro arriving at 11:15. Upon arrival, picked up by your driver guide and drive to Mikumi National Park (approx. 2 hours drive) while enjoying scenic views of the Tanzanian countryside along the way. Check-in at the lodge and get your hot lunch.

In the afternoon, embark on a game drive through Mikumi’s open plains, where you may spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and various antelope species. The park’s landscape offers excellent visibility, enhancing wildlife viewing opportunities. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Full Day Game Drive at Mikumi National Park

Start your day with an early morning game drive, ideal for spotting predators and other animals during their most active hours. After breakfast at the lodge you will have a full game drive at Mikumi National Park to exprole the wildlife in the park up to late evening. Dinner and overnight at a lodge near the park check out and begin your journey to Udzungwa Mountains National Park.

Transfer to Udzungwa Mountains – Sanje Waterfalls

After breakfast, transfer to Udzungwa Mountain and embark on a guided hike through the lush rainforests of Udzungwa Mountains National Park. The trail to Sanje Waterfalls takes you through rich biodiversity, with chances to see endemic monkeys, birds, butterflies, and a wide variety of plant species.
At the top, enjoy breathtaking views and the refreshing atmosphere of the 170-meter waterfall—the tallest in Tanzania. After the hike, return to your lodge for lunch and some rest. Dinner and overnight stay near the park.

Maasai Village Visit & Return to Dar es Salaam

Begin your day with an early morning you will visit Maasai Village before heading back to Dar es Salaam, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a nearby Maasai village. This cultural experience offers insight into the traditional lifestyle, customs, and vibrant dress of the Maasai people. You’ll learn about their history, daily activities, and have a chance to engage with community members in a respectful and meaningful way.
