Addis Ababa to Semera

Fly from Addis Ababa early in the morning to Semera, the capital of the Afar region then drive to Dallol, one of the hottest and lowest points on Earth to xplore the colorful and otherworldly landscapes of Dallol, including the salt flats, sulfur springs, geysers as well as caravan camels Late afternoon enjoy the sunset from salt lake and spend over night there.

Dallol to Erta Ale Volcano

After breakfast drive back to Erta Ale, a continuously active volcano known for its lava lake. You will arrive at the foot of the volcanic mountain then take a break for dinner after that start Trekking to the summit of Erta Ale and spend the night camping near the volcano, watching the mesmerizing display of molten lava.

Erta Ale to Afdera and Semera -Addis

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over Erta Ale before trekking back down to the base After breakfast drive to Afdera, a salt mining town located near the shores of Lake Afdera to see the salt mines and witness the traditional salt extraction methods used by the Afar people In the afternoon drive back to Semera airport for Addis departure.

The lush natural surroundings of the Ari people provide a scenic introduction to tribal Ethiopia. Overnight in Jinka.

Jinka – Benna – Omorate – Turmi

Begin your journey deep into the Omo Valley by visiting the Benna and Mursi tribes. If lucky, witness vibrant tribal markets in Key Afer en route. After lunch in Turmi, continue south to Omorate and cross the Omo River by traditional canoe to meet the Dassanech tribe, known for their body art and unique lifestyle. Return to Turmi for overnight.
