1-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Hike with Lunch

Your Mount Kilimanjaro day trip begins with an early morning pick-up in Arusha. A scenic drive takes you to the Marangu Gate (1,870 meters), the starting point for your hike.

Upon arrival, you'll complete registration and get a briefing from your guide before setting off on the trail. The hike takes you through a lush rainforest, a vibrant and biodiverse environment filled with impressive trees and local wildlife like blue and colobus monkeys. This first section is a gradual climb, taking around 3-4 hours.

Your destination is Mandara Hut (2,720 meters), where you'll stop for a picnic lunch. Here, you can rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You can also take a short side trip to the nearby Maundi Crater for incredible panoramic views of the plains below and the mountain's peaks.

After your break, you'll begin the descent back to Marangu Gate. The return hike is quicker, typically taking 2-3 hours. Your driver will meet you at the gate for the return trip to Arusha.
