Arrival in Kigali - Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Arrive at Kigali International Airport, where you’ll be met by your driver-guide. After a brief introduction and optional city tour (time permitting), depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southwestern Uganda. The scenic 4–5 hour drive crosses into Uganda via the Gatuna or Cyanika border, offering views of Rwanda’s hills and Uganda’s highlands.

Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the evening. Check in, relax, and prepare for your gorilla trekking experience the next day.

Gorilla Trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Gorilla trekking is a thrilling wildlife adventure that involves hiking through the dense forests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda to observe endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, and offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend up to one hour with a gorilla family.

After the trek, you will be transferred to the scenic Lake Bunyonyi, known for its stunning landscapes, terraced hills, and 29 islands. The lake provides a peaceful retreat, perfect for relaxation, canoeing, and bird watching following the adventurous trek.
