Flight to Nyerere National Park and Game Drive

Your journey begins with an early morning transfer from your hotel to Zanzibar Airport, where you will take a short flight to the remarkable Nyerere National Park, formerly known as Selous Game Reserve. Upon arrival at Mtemere Airstrip, your driver-guide will warmly welcome you and share the day’s safari plan.

This immense wilderness is home to an abundance of natural wonders—majestic elephants, graceful giraffes, zebras, hippos, and countless bird species, along with its rivers, lakes, and scenic landscapes.

A delicious packed lunch will be provided, giving you time to relax before continuing your adventure deep into the wild until the golden glow of sunset. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at Selous Safari Lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

Early Morning Boat Safari, Village Tour, Maasai Visit & Departure

Begin the day with an early morning coffee or tea before setting out on a two-hour boat safari. As the sun rises, enjoy breathtaking views of hippos wallowing in the water, crocodiles resting along the riverbanks, and a vibrant array of birdlife creating a magical start to the day. Afterward, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.

Later in the morning, you will embark on a cultural village tour, where you’ll explore the daily lives and traditions of the local community. This includes a visit to a primary school, offering a chance to interact with students. After returning for lunch at the lodge, the experience continues with a visit to a Maasai community. Here, you’ll discover their unique way of life, traditions, livestock practices, and even witness their energetic dances.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your 4:00 pm flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, a driver will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel.
