The Experience: Your game drive here is often a walking safari or a canoe safari (optional extra cost) on the Momella Lakes, offering a unique, up-close perspective. While large predators are rare, you'll see herds of buffalo, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and a variety of antelope like the beautiful black-and-white colobus monkey in the forest canopy. The birdlife is also exceptional. After a picnic lunch, you'll begin the drive south-west to Tarangire National Park. It's one of the best places in Africa to see the critically endangered black rhinoceros, as well as majestic male lions, giant tusked elephants, and large herds of zebra and wildebeest. The hippo pool and Lake Magadi, often blanketed with flamingos, are stunning highlights. You will enjoy your picnic lunch at a designated site next to the hippo pool, a truly unique experience.
