Your safari begins with a morning pick-up in Nairobi and a drive south towards the Kenya–Tanzania border, where Amboseli National Park is located. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before heading out on your first afternoon game drive. Amboseli is world-renowned for its large herds of elephants and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain. The open plains and swampy areas support abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, and numerous bird species. As the sun sets over the savannah, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Spend the day exploring Amboseli in depth with morning and afternoon game drives. Early mornings often reveal the clearest views of Kilimanjaro, making this the perfect time for photography. Visit the swamp regions that serve as a vital lifeline for elephants and hippos, and enjoy sightings of diverse birdlife. Amboseli’s compact size allows for excellent wildlife viewing within short distances, giving you ample opportunities to observe predators and grazing herds. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and drive north through Nairobi, continuing into the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch at your lodge, set on the lakeshore. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride across the freshwater lake, where hippos wallow, fish eagles swoop, and birdlife thrives. Later, visit Crescent Island Sanctuary, where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes in a serene, predator-free environment. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

After breakfast, make the short drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its rich birdlife and rhino sanctuary. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. The park is one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos, as well as Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, leopards, buffalo, and a wide variety of antelope. The alkaline lake itself attracts pelicans, herons, and other water birds, creating striking scenery. After your game drive, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

In the afternoon, set out on your first game drive across the sweeping savannahs. The Mara is Kenya’s most famous safari destination, offering excellent chances to see big cats as well as the full Big Five. Herds of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and gazelles roam freely, while the Mara River sustains hippos and crocodiles. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Explore Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend the day exploring the Masai Mara in depth. Start with an early morning game drive, when predators are often active and the light is ideal for photography. After breakfast, continue to different areas of the reserve, from riverbanks to open plains, where lions, cheetahs, and leopards may be spotted. Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari at dawn (extra cost) or a cultural visit to a Maasai village. Return for lunch and relax before an afternoon game drive to capture the beauty of the Mara at sunset.
