Day 1

Into the Wild of Selous (Nyerere)

Into the Wild of Selous (Nyerere)

Your journey begins in Dar es Salaam, where a short flight carries you over the shimmering coastline and into the heart of Selous Game Reserve. From the air, rivers snake like silver threads through endless green.
On arrival, your guide welcomes you and the safari begins immediately. Africa’s Giant Tusks cross sandy tracks, giraffes stretch toward acacia canopies, and wild dogs may flash through the bush in packs. In the afternoon, you drift along the Rufiji River by boat, where hippos snort in the shallows and crocodiles bask on sunlit banks. As the sun sets crimson over the water, you return to your lodge, the night alive with the calls of the wild.

Selous Game Drives

At dawn, the bush awakens. You set out on a full-day game drive, weaving through woodland and open plains. Lions bask in golden light, buffalo herds thunder across grasslands, and fish eagles circle high above. A picnic lunch is enjoyed in the shade, surrounded by nothing but the untamed wilderness.
By evening, back at camp, you share stories around the fire. The Selous is vast, raw, and wild—and tonight it feels like it belongs only to you.

Flight to Ruaha National Park

After breakfast, a bush flight carries you westward to Ruaha National Park—a remote and rugged landscape where baobabs scatter across hills and the Great Ruaha River carves its path through rocky valleys.
This is predator land —Ruaha is known for its large lion prides, stealthy leopards, and wild dogs. On your afternoon game drive, you may witness elephants drinking at the riverbanks or kudu and sable antelope moving gracefully through the brush.
As night falls, your lodge offers comfort under the stars, with the sounds of Ruaha’s wilderness all around.
