After breakfast, transfer to Machame Gate for registration. Begin your trek through lush rainforest, with giant ferns, fig trees, and occasional wildlife sightings. The trail gradually ascends to Machame Camp.

Day 2

Leaving the rainforest behind, the trail climbs into moorland with panoramic views. Trek across ridges and volcanic rock formations until you reach Shira Camp on a high plateau.

Day 3

This is an important acclimatization day. You’ll ascend to Lava Tower for lunch at high altitude, then descend into the Barranco Valley. Overnight at Barranco Camp, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and the famous Barranco Wall.

Day 4

After tackling the Barranco Wall, you’ll hike through alpine desert landscapes with stunning views of Kibo Peak. Continue to Barafu Camp, your base for the summit attempt. Rest early before the big day.

Day 5

At midnight, begin your summit push with a steep climb to Stella Point (5,739m), then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak—the highest point in Africa. After celebrating, descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp for overnight.

• Habitat: Arctic zone, alpine desert, rainforest

Day 6

Mweka Camp (3100m) – Mweka Gate (1640m) – Moshi/Arusha
Descend through the lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where successful climbers receive summit certificates. Transfer back to Moshi or Arusha for relaxation.
