Arusha – Serengeti National Park

Arusha – Serengeti National Park

Your safari begins after an early breakfast in Arusha. You'll drive through the Great Rift Valley and ascend into the Ngorongoro Highlands, passing small villages and stunning landscapes. You’ll enter the Serengeti National Park via the Naabi Hill Gate, where you can stretch your legs and enjoy panoramic views of the plains.

As you drive deeper into the Serengeti, you’ll enjoy a game drive en route to your camp or lodge. Keep an eye out for big cats (lions, leopards, cheetahs), elephants, giraffes, and more. Depending on the time of year, you may witness parts of the Great Wildebeest Migration.

Full Day Game Drive in Ndutu Southern Serengeti

Full Day Game Drive in Ndutu Southern Serengeti

After breakfast, head to the Ndutu area, located within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, at the edge of the southern Serengeti. This area is especially famous during the calving season (December to March) when hundreds of thousands of wildebeest give birth on the open plains — attracting predators like lions, hyenas, and cheetahs in dramatic numbers.

You'll enjoy a full-day off-road game drive, which is permitted in this part of the ecosystem — allowing you to get closer to the action. You may witness predator hunts, newborn calves, and large herds grazing freely in the open plains.

Ndutu (Southern Serengeti NP)

Ndutu – Ngorongoro Highlands

After an early breakfast and optional short game drive in the morning, you'll begin your journey back east toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy wildlife viewing opportunities and stunning vistas of the endless plains. As you approach the Ngorongoro Crater rim, the landscape becomes greener and more mountainous.

You’ll arrive in the late afternoon at your lodge or camp on the crater rim or nearby in Karatu town. Enjoy a hot shower, campfire (if camping), and a delicious dinner while preparing for the final day in the famous Ngorongoro Crater.

Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha

After an early morning breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater — the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Enjoy a half-day game drive on the crater floor, where you may see lions, buffalos, hippos, hyenas, elephants, and (with luck) the rare black rhino. Flamingos line the soda lake, and the scenery is breathtaking throughout.

After a picnic lunch at a designated site inside the crater, begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel or at the airport, depending on your onward plans.
