Ngorongoro Crater, often called the 8th Natural Wonder of the World, boasts towering walls over 600m (2,000 ft) high and covers 265 sq. km (102 sq. mi) of diverse ecosystems, including rivers, swamps, a flamingo-filled soda lake, forests, and open plains. It's home to almost every East African wildlife species, including the rare black rhino and large bull elephants with impressively long tusks, thanks to the mineral-rich volcanic soil.
