On arrival in Nairobi, meet your driver-guide and begin your journey to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes you through the Great Rift Valley, offering sweeping views of escarpments and the patchwork farmlands of rural Kenya. Arrive at your lodge or camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across the Mara’s golden plains. Today is dedicated to exploring the Mara. After an early breakfast, set out on a full-day game drive with picnic lunch carried along, giving you time to reach remote corners of the reserve. This is the land of the Big Five, with predators especially abundant. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Migration (July–October), when wildebeest and zebras pour across the plains in dramatic scenes of survival. Stop at the Mara River, home to hippos and crocodiles, and where river crossings take place during migration months. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and storytelling around the fire.

Another full day allows you to dive deeper into the Mara’s landscapes, from rolling grasslands to riverine forests. Early mornings are prime for spotting predators on the hunt, while afternoons reveal elephants, antelopes, and giraffes grazing. Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari at sunrise, followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush, or a visit to a Maasai village, where you’ll learn about their culture, traditions, and dances. End the day with another spectacular sunset over the savannah.

After breakfast, leave the Mara and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, a scenic park set around a shimmering alkaline lake. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge before an afternoon game drive. Nakuru is celebrated for its rich birdlife, including flamingos that paint the lake’s edge pink when conditions allow. It is also one of Kenya’s best places to see both black and white rhinos, and it shelters Rothschild’s giraffes, buffaloes, and lions. Leopards are also occasionally sighted along the woodland edges. Return to your lodge in the evening.

After a relaxed breakfast and a short game drive, depart for Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake located in the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch at your lakeside lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, gliding past hippos, fish eagles, and pelicans while watching giraffes and waterbucks along the shoreline. You may also take a guided walk on Crescent Island, a private sanctuary where you can walk among freely roaming giraffes, zebras, and antelopes.
