Nairobi – Samburu (Afternoon Game Drive)

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive north through Nanyuki and Isiolo, arriving at Samburu in time for lunch at your lodge. After check-in and a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive. Explore the riverine forest along the Ewaso Nyiro River, where elephants, buffalos, and crocodiles are often spotted. Look out for lions resting in the shade and leopards that are frequently seen in this park. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive with picnic lunch carried into the bush. Traverse Samburu’s varied landscapes: open savannahs, rocky ridges, and acacia woodlands. This is your best chance to see the Samburu Special Five, along with cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and antelopes unique to the north. Spend time by the riverbanks, where herds of elephants gather and predators often lurk nearby. Bird lovers can spot eagles, hornbills, and kingfishers. In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Samburu – Nairobi (Morning Game Drive)

After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive to catch the predators as they finish their night hunt and animals as they graze in the cool morning hours. With luck, you may spot wild dogs, which are occasionally seen in Samburu. Later, check out and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon.
