Day 1

Arusha to Tarangire

Your safari adventure begins with an early morning departure from Arusha. After meeting your professional guide and receiving a short safari briefing, you’ll drive to Tarangire National Park, a hidden gem known for its ancient baobab trees and dense elephant population.

Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a game drive through the park’s dramatic landscapes, following the Tarangire River in search of lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and various bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and continue your wildlife exploration until late afternoon.

After the game drive, you’ll head to your selected lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay in the Tarangire area.

Day 2

Karatu to Serengeti

Karatu to Serengeti

After breakfast, you’ll leave Tarangire and drive toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area along the way. If time allows, you can stop at the crater rim for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Ngorongoro Crater.
The journey continues through the highlands and down onto the vast plains of the Serengeti. You’ll arrive in time for an afternoon game drive, where you may encounter prides of lions, herds of elephants, cheetahs, and—depending on the season—the spectacular Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra.

In the evening, you’ll check in to your lodge or tented camp located in the Serengeti for dinner and a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 3

Serengeti to Karatu

Serengeti to Karatu

Begin your day with an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, when wildlife is most active and the golden light offers incredible photo opportunities. After breakfast, continue exploring the vast plains, keeping an eye out for big cats, elephants, giraffes, and other iconic species. Around midday, you’ll begin your drive out of the Serengeti, heading southeast toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy more wildlife sightings and take in the stunning change in scenery as you ascend into the highlands.

In the afternoon, you’ll exit the conservation area and drive to the peaceful town of Karatu, located just outside the Ngorongoro gate. This vibrant farming town offers a more relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to unwind after a full day of safari. Arrive at your lodge in Karatu in the early evening, where you can enjoy dinner and relax in comfortable surroundings in preparation for tomorrow’s descent into the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 4

Ngorongoro to Arusha

Today is a highlight of the trip. After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in one of the most unique wildlife havens in Africa. The crater’s enclosed ecosystem supports a vast array of animals, including the Big Five—lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo. You’ll also have a chance to see hippos in the pools, flamingos on Lake Magadi, and maybe even elusive black rhinos. After a picnic lunch on the crater floor, ascend back to the rim and begin your return journey to Arusha. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable 4-day Northern Tanzania safari.
