After an early breakfast, descend more than 600 meters into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater for a day of exceptional wildlife viewing. Sustained by year-round water and lush grazing, the crater supports impressive populations of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and the majestic African elephant.
The area is also renowned for its high concentration of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard—often spotted only by a trained eye. Visit Lake Magadi, a large yet shallow alkaline lake in the crater’s southwest corner, where flamingos, hippos, and a variety of water birds are commonly seen.
