Mwanza/Serengeti

Mwanza/Serengeti

Drive along a smooth tarmac road from Mwanza to the Ndabaka Gate, entering the western corridor of Serengeti National Park. Begin your wildlife adventure by exploring this rich ecosystem, home to diverse resident species in their natural environment. Make scenic stops at the Grumeti River and Retima Hippo Pool, where large pods of hippos and massive Nile crocodiles can be observed up close.

Continue your journey toward the Seronera area, renowned for its high concentration of wildlife. Encounter an impressive array of animals including leopards, lion prides, cheetahs, spotted hyena packs, and a variety of plains game such as buffaloes, wildebeests, topis, hartebeests, elands, zebras, gazelles, waterbucks, warthogs, and more. Bird lovers will be delighted, as over 100 bird species can often be spotted in a single day.

As the day winds down, head to your lodge or tented camp for a hearty dinner and a peaceful night’s rest surrounded by the sounds of the Serengeti.

Full day in Serengeti

Full day in Serengeti

On Day 2, start with an early morning game drive at 6:00 am to catch predators in action before the sun rises high, followed by breakfast back at the lodge. Continue exploring the vast Serengeti ecosystem with game drives across the plains and rocky outcrops known as kopjes—a term from Afrikaans meaning “spearhead.” These granite formations serve as vital habitats and breeding grounds for predators such as cheetahs, lions, leopards, and wild dogs. You may spot lions lounging on the iconic Simba Kopjes, named after the Swahili word for lion. After an exciting morning, return to the lodge or camp for lunch and a short rest. Later in the afternoon, head out again for a sunset game drive, offering spectacular views of the Serengeti at golden hour and a chance to see nocturnal wildlife begin to emerge. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at your midrange lodge or tented camp.
