After breakfast, depart Dar es Salaam for Mikumi National Park, a scenic drive of about 5–6 hours through rural villages and rolling hills. Upon arrival, enjoy your first game drive, exploring the wide-open plains where herds of wildebeest, elephants, and buffalo graze, often with predators nearby. In the evening, check into your lodge or camp inside/near the park for dinner and an overnight stay.

Spend the day on exciting game drives within Mikumi National Park. The park’s Mkata Floodplain is known as the “Serengeti of the South,” offering excellent chances to spot lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and hippos at the pools. Bird lovers will also find over 400 species, including colorful lilac-breasted rollers and hornbills. After a picnic lunch, continue your exploration before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, drive to Nyerere National Park, the largest game reserve in Africa, famous for its untouched wilderness and variety of wildlife. Upon arrival, enjoy a unique boat safari on the Rufiji River, where you can see hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and abundant birdlife up close. Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp within the park.
