Day 1

Start your mini-adventure with a short but fascinating drive from Arusha up the lush slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro to the village of Materuni, approximately 1,800m above sea level. On this day, you will also visit a coffee farm and learn how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed, and you will try your hand at roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee the Chagga way. After a delightful coffee break, you will take a beautiful 45-minute hike through the hills and valleys en route to the Materuni waterfalls. You will pass through banana and coffee plantations, up and down small valleys, across ridges, and through narrow splashing rivulets. Along the way, your guide will teach you about local plants and how they are used for food and traditional medicine, as well as give you more insight into the local Chagga culture. Later, you will be transferred to Arusha for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2

After being welcomed to Arusha, you will begin your safari to Arusha National Park in the morning. The entrance gate of Arusha National Park leads into forest inhabited by blue monkeys and colorful turacos and trogons—the only place on the northern safari circuit where the acrobatic black-and-white colobus monkeys are easily seen. In the midst of the forest stands the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater, whose steep rocky cliffs enclose a wide marshy floor dotted with herds of buffalo and warthog.
While in Arusha National Park, you will be able to enjoy views of Mount Meru by walking close to it for about 2-3 hours with an armed ranger who will accompany you throughout. Although elephants are uncommon in Arusha National Park and lions are absent altogether, leopards, spotted hyenas, giraffe, buffalo, and many other animals may be seen. In the evening, you will be transferred back to Arusha to your lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 3

After breakfast in the morning, you will board a 4x4 Land Cruiser safari vehicle and set off for a safari to Tarangire National Park. This park boasts the highest population density of elephants in Tanzania, with herds of up to 300 elephants digging into the dry riverbed for underground streams. You will also encounter migratory wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, gazelles, hartebeests, and elands. Tarangire offers the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem, making it a prime hunting ground for predators. It is one of the few places in Tanzania where you can regularly spot dry-country antelope, such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and the unique long-necked gerenuk. After a full day of game drives, you will be transferred to your booked lodge in the evening for dinner, a warm shower, and your overnight stay.

Day 4

After breakfast in the morning, your driver-guide will pack a picnic lunch in a 4x4 safari jeep. You will then have a short drive to your destination for the day, Lake Manyara National Park. Although one of Tanzania’s smaller wildlife reserves, Lake Manyara boasts an incredible diversity of landscapes and wildlife. Bird lovers will especially enjoy the sight of hundreds of pink flamingos and yellow-billed storks flying around the lake. The park is also famous for its unique tree-climbing lions, large groups of baboons, blue monkeys, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and giraffes. After a full day of game viewing, you will be transferred to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will start a three-hour drive to the destination of the day, Lake Natron. This road trip through northern Tanzania is an ideal way to see different sides of the country’s ever-changing landscapes. While driving through the Rift Valley and toward your destination, you will see lush green vegetation gradually give way to dry, arid, and dusty landscapes. The occasional Maasai villages passed en route appear as dots in the distant scenery.
Lake Natron is home to more than 2.5 million lesser flamingos, representing about three-quarters of the world’s population, with most of them hatched at Lake Natron. Activities include walks around the lake and visits to the streams and waterfalls along the nearby escarpment, making for a fantastic adventure off the beaten track.

Day 6

Around 9:00 am after breakfast, you will be escorted to a safari jeep waiting outside the lodge. Your luggage will be packed, and you will board the safari Jeep ready for the journey to the destination of the day, Serengeti National Park.
On your way to the Serengeti, you will pass through several attractive points where you can stop for a photo or two. While heading to your destination, you will have lunch in the bush and then continue with your fascinating and tireless trip to the Serengeti, one of the best-known wildlife sanctuaries in the world.
Known for its endless plains and named “Serengit” by the Maasai people, Serengeti National Park is considered one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. It is home to hundreds of lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, millions of wildebeest, thousands of zebras, gazelles, and thousands of birds, to mention a few.

After breakfast, you will continue with the game drive in the incredible Serengeti. You will have a half-day game drive to spot animals you may not have seen over the last two days. After viewing several animals and saying goodbye to one of the most wonderful places on this planet, you will be transferred to Ngorongoro for dinner and your overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you will proceed on a half-day game drive at the Mara River. You will explore until the afternoon, when we expect the wildebeest may make their final crossing of the day. Later, you will make your way to the Central Serengeti for dinner and your overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you'll set out for a half-day game drive in Serengeti National Park. In the afternoon, you will transfer to Ngorongoro. On the way, there is an optional visit to a Maasai village. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at the lodge.

Day 10

After breakfast, you will begin another journey to Lake Natron. The scenery includes the Ngarasero Escarpment, waterfalls, the gorge, Oldonyo Lengai (an active volcano), and flamingos across the lake. Today, you will take a walk to the waterfalls, crossing the water at different points where you can swim and refresh under the falls. You will also see many flamingos at Lake Natron. Later, you will be transferred to Arusha, with the option to overnight in Arusha or continue to the airport.
