Day 1

You'll depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through Kenya’s central highlands to Chogoria Town. After a short break at Chogoria town, you'll continue with a 4x4 transfer through the thick forest and bamboo zones to the Chogoria Gate of Mount Kenya National Park.
This first day allows time to acclimatize, set up camp, and rest before the actual trekking begins.

Day 2
Mount Kenya Anabas - Lake Ellis Camp

You'll begin the trek from Chogoria Gate, passing through lush forest and bamboo zones. You'll take a short detour to Nithi Falls, a scenic waterfall plunging into a deep gorge. After a spectacular photo shoot moment, you will continue the steady climb into open moorland, with views of Mugi Hill and Mount Kenya’s eastern valleys. You'll arrive at Lake Ellis by afternoon and set up camp near the lake’s edge for an overnight stay.

Day 3
Lake Ellis Camp - Mintos Camp

You'll depart Lake Ellis after breakfast and begin a steady ascent through scenic moorland. You’ll hike through unique high-altitude vegetation, crossing small streams and rocky ridges along the way. After a lunch stop en route, you will continue uphill as you near your camp, enjoy stunning views of Lake Michaelson, and dramatic cliff faces like The Temple.
You'll arrive at Mintos Camp in the afternoon, set up camp, and rest. The area is exposed but beautiful, offering an ideal base for acclimatization ahead of your summit attempt.

Day 4

Mintos Camp - Austrian Hut
You'll depart Mintos Camp after breakfast and ascend steadily across high alpine terrain. The trail is rocky and exposed, with thinning air making the climb more demanding. Along the way, you will enjoy panoramic views of Gorges Valley, the Temple, and the surrounding peaks. You'll arrive at Austrian Hut, located just below Point Lenana, by early afternoon. You'll have lunch, rest, and prepare for the pre-dawn summit attempt to Point Lenana.

Day 5
Austrian Hut - Point Lenana - Met Station
Austrian Hut - Point Lenana - Met Station
You'll start the summit push from Austrian Hut before dawn. The steep climb to Point Lenana takes 45 minutes to 1 hour and rewards you with a spectacular sunrise over the Kenyan plains and surrounding peaks. After enjoying the summit views, you'll begin the long descent via the Naromoru Route. The trail drops through scree slopes and the rocky Mackinder’s Valley. Then, you'll transition into moorland and dense forest. You'll arrive at Met Station Camp by late afternoon for your final night on the mountain.

Day 6
Met Station - KWS Naromoru Gate - Nairobi

After breakfast at Met Station, you'll begin your final descent through the montane forest. The trail is well-marked and gentle, offering a relaxing walk down to Naromoru Gate. You'll check out of the park, meet your driver, and begin the return journey to Nairobi, arriving at your hotel or airport in the afternoon.
